Widespread
but local
There are very few confirmed
records of this species in the county, partly because it is so easily
confused with the wood mouse which also occurs frequently in buildings.
It is probably very under-recorded. House mice are mainly associated
with urban and suburban areas and are scarce in the open countryside.
