Pipistrelles are the commonest bats in Derbyshire and are widespread, though there is insufficient
evidence on population trend. The comparative status in the county
of the two species (recently split) also needs clarifying. Provisional
evidence suggests that the soprano pipistrelle occurs frequently in
the White Peak.
